About Sergei Skrynnik

I am a Siberian researcher of space and time. Videographer, photographer, original content creator. I was born in Novosibirsk in 1990. I am based in Moscow. I shoot all over Russia and worldwide. Got into TOP100 of the best aerial photographers of the planet according to the 7th International Award 35AWARDS.

My first photo was made at the age of 5 on a film camera “KODAK”. Since then I have never let the camera out of my hands. Up to the age of 29 it was just a hobby. Eventually the hobby grew into something more and I learned to shoot video. That’s how I found a new language to communicate with the world. 

I went to three schools. I studied English, French, Latin and Ancient Greek. Since childhood I absorbed encyclopedic knowledge and dreamed of adventures like Indiana Jones. In 2012 graduated from Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management. I joined the Russian Geographical Society. I tried my hand at entrepreneurship, and I also had a carpentry workshop. I have been hardening myself with cold and bathing in ice water for half of my life. 

I have been traveling independently for more than 16 years. At the age of 34 I hitchhiked 14000 kilometers with a backpack, longboard and no money through Southern Africa to make a documentary, visiting South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia. 

Once sneaked under a false ID into a stadium in Dubai to film the Rugby World Cup final. Jumped into caves with crystal clear water in the Philippines. Ten days filming Przewalski’s horses with scientists in the steppes of the Orenburg region and helping to extinguish a steppe fire that was started by lightning. Traveled to the Ukok Plateau by crossing the mountains on all-terrain vehicles. I visited one of the most popular sights in Norway — the sheer cliff Prekestolen and was there completely alone. I try to spend my summers filming in the Altai Republic.
